DICKSON NAMED SAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

junior right-hander Brandon Dickson
(West Marbury, Ala.)
has been named the South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week, league officials
announced on Monday.
Working
seven innings in relief, Dickson picked up one win and did not allow an earned
run. He surrendered just five hits
while walking none and striking out five.
Dickson’s win came
in the Pioneers’ 11-5 victory over Wingate on Sunday, which secured the series
sweep. Giving up just one hit with
no walks and three strikeouts, he improved to 4-2 with the victory.
Dickson
is the second Tusculum
player to earn Pitcher of the Week recognition, as Brent Gabel secured the honor on Feb. 27.
The
South Atlantic Conference Pitcher of the Week is determined by a vote conducted
among the league’s eight sports information directors.
