TUSCULUM BASEBALL LISTED NO. 11 IN NCBWA POLL

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. --- The Tusculum College baseball team is ranked No. 11 in the country according to this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II Poll announced College officials Wednesday.

The Pioneers (48-12) dropped two spots from last week's No. 9 ranking, despite not playing and owning the second-best victory tally (48) in the nation.  TC received 71 points in this week's poll.

Tampa (42-9) jumped two spots and is the new No. 1 team in the land.  The Spartans swept a three-game series over Rollins last weekend and landed three first place votes in this week's rankings.  Ouachita Baptist is second with its 49-7 record, the most in the country, while tallying a first place nod.  Sonoma State is third, followed by Kutztown, Central Missouri State, Grand Valley State, Cal State Los Angeles, Minnesota State-Mankato, Franklin Pierce and Georgia College & State to round out the top 10.

Tusculum is one of two South Atlantic Conference teams listed in this week's top 25.  Carson-Newman (36-18) dropped four spots and is listed No. 25 in the poll, despite being idle for the past two weeks.

The Pioneers will learn its postseason fate this Sunday when the 48-team NCAA Division II Tournament field is announced.
