TUSCULUM MEN SEEDED SIXTH, OPEN SAC TOURNAMENT AT WINGATE
ROCK HILL, S.C. --- The Tusculum College
men’s basketball team will be the No. 6 seed in the 2007 Food Lion South
Atlantic Conference Tournament and will face third-seeded Wingate University,
this Wednesday night at Cuddy Arena beginning at 8 p.m.
Wednesday’s quarterfinal
match-up will mark the third time the Pioneers and Bulldogs have met in the SAC
Tournament.
Tusculum
(13-14) finished tied for sixth place in the South Atlantic Conference with Newberry College.
The Pioneers won the tiebreaker by sweeping the season series over the
Indians.
The winner of Wednesday’s
quarterfinal will advance to the SAC Tournament semifinal on Saturday at the
Catawba Valley Community College Arena in Hickory,
N.C. That game will begin at 8 p.m. and will be

of the SAC Tournament in three of the last four years, including last season as
the Pioneers were eliminated by Presbyterian.
Wingate (19-8) swept the season
series over Tusculum,
but the Pioneers have won four of the last six meetings with the Bulldogs. Wingate is also the defending SAC Tournament
Champion.
Tickets
for all tournament games are $6 per day for adults, $3 per day for children,
