WEST VIRGINIA TECH EDGES TUSCULUM 66-63

 

                BLUEFIELD, W.Va. --- Brent Butler scored a game-high 26 points to lead the West Virginia Tech men’s basketball team to a 66-63 win over Tusculum College in the opening game of the Bluefield State Currence Classic.

 

                The Pioneers (0-3) were led by senior Jordan Lear’s 21 points and career-high 18 rebounds.  The 18-board effort is the fourth best in recorded school history. LaVonti Jeter added 14 points, while Kyle Moore and Jimmy Boone added eight markers each.

 

                Tusculum will play in Saturday’s consolation game at 6 p.m. against host Bluefield State.
