LISTED IN NCAA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS
INDIANAPOLIS --- Off to its best start in over a decade, the
Tusculum College women’s basketball team is listed in numerous categories in
this week’s installment of the NCAA Division II statistics.
The Pioneers (14-2, 4-0 in South
Atlantic Conference) enter Wednesday’s league tilt at Newberry College, riding
an 11-game winning streak. The 11-game
run is the longest active winning streak in the conference and tied for the
second longest in school history.
Tusculum is listed in 10
categories, while five Pioneers are mentioned individually.
TC leads the conference in
scoring, averaging 81 points per game, which is seventh in the nation. Tusculum is also seventh in the country in
field goal percentage (47.4%) and sixth in assist/turnover ratio (1.18). The Pioneers are averaging 18.8 assists per
contest, which is ninth in the land, while TC’s .875 won-lost percentage is
currently 13th in the nation.
Tusculum is also 14th in blocked shots per game (4.9 bpg), 23rd in three-point field goals per game
(7.3), 24th in three-point percentage (37.1%), 24th in
scoring margin (+15.4 ppg) and 26th in
turnovers per game (16.0 tpg).
Sophomore forward Stephany Neptune is listed in three categories,
including 20th in rebounding (10.1 rpg), 25th in field goal percentage
(56.6%) and 49th in blocked shots per game (1.7 bpg).
Freshman guard Jasmine Gunn is 10th in the
nation in assists per game (6.3 apg) and 40th
in assist/turnover ratio (1.77). Junior Nikki Van Dine is third nationally in
three-point field goal percentage (48.3%) and 27th in three-point
field goals per game (2.7). Junior Ashli Oliver is 12th in
three-pointers per game (3.2), while rookie Jasmine Parker is 40th in assist/turnover ratio (1.77).
Following Wednesday’s Newberry
game, the Pioneers will be on the road this Saturday when they take on
defending SAC Champion Wingate University at 2 p.m.
