TUSCULUM RECEIVING VOTES IN D-II WOMEN’S BASKETBALL POLL

 

                LILBURN, Ga. --- Tusculum College is receiving votes in this week’s USA Today/ESPN Division II Women’s Basketball Top 25 Poll announced officials Tuesday.

 

                The Pioneers (15-3, 5-1 in South Atlantic Conference) received 14 points and are tied for first place in the South Atlantic Conference with Wingate, which was also listed in this week’s poll.

 

                Delta State holds the top spot in the land with 624 points and 24 first place votes.  Delta State is one of three unbeaten teams in the country (17-0), along with No. 2 Seattle Pacific (17-0) and No. 8 Holy Family (17-0).  North Dakota is up one spot to third, while South Dakota is fourth, while also receiving a first-place nod.  Indiana (Pa.) holds the fifth spot, followed by Concordia-St. Paul, Drury, Holy Family, Alaska Anchorage and Fairmont State comprise the top 10.

 

                The Pioneers return to action Wednesday night when they host Mars Hill at 6 p.m.  Tusculum is undefeated at home this season (7-0) and are riding a nine-game home winning streak.
