TUSCULUM LISTED IN NCAA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL STATISTICS

 

                INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College women’s basketball team is eighth in the nation in scoring according to this week’s NCAA Division II statistics announced College officials Tuesday.

 

                The Pioneers (15-3, 5-1 in South Atlantic Conference) are averaging 80.2 points per game, which is also tops in the league.  TC is also mentioned in nine other team categories, while five Pioneers are listed individually.

 

                Tusculum is 10th in assist/turnover ratio (1.14), 11th in assists per game (18.5 apg), 13th in field goal percentage (46.2%), 14th in blocked shots per game (4.9 bpg), 21st in won-lost percentage (83.3%), 25th in three-point field goals per game (7.1), 27th in scoring margin (+13.6), 32nd in turnovers per game (16.2 tpg) and 34th in three-point percentage (36.1%).

 

                Sophomore forward Stephany Neptune (Wallkill, N.Y.) is 18th in rebounding (10.3 rpg), 28th in field goal percentage (55.8%) and 42nd in blocked shots per game (1.7 bpg).

 

                Junior Nikki Van Dine (Columbus, Ohio) is second in the country in three-point percentage (50%) and 21st in three-pointers per game (2.8), while junior Ashli Oliver (Kokomo, Ind.) is 13th in three-pointers made per contest (3.0).  Rookie Jasmine Parker (Rex, Ga.) rounds out the list as she is 34th in the country in assist/turnover ratio (1.83).

 

                Tusculum returns home Wednesday night when it hosts Mars Hill for a 6 p.m. league tilt.  TC is undefeated at home this season (7-0) and has won its last nine games at Pioneer Arena.
