TUSCULUM’S JASMINE GUNN NAMED SAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College’s
Jasmine Gunn has been named the South
Atlantic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, league officials
announced today. This marks the third
time Gunn has earned this honor this season.
Gunn, a freshman from Nashville, Tenn., averaged 19
points per game in two South Atlantic Conference victories for the Pioneers
last week. The Pioneers (17-3, 7-1 SAC) are
tied for first place in the league and are off to its best record through 20
games in over a decade.
Gunn shot 50 percent from the
floor and averaged 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game during the week.
In Tusculum’s 95-65 win over
Mars Hill, Gunn led the charge with a career-high 31 points, shooting 11-for-19
from the floor and 8-of-9 at the free throw line. The
In TC’s 69-67 South Atlantic
Conference win over Lenoir-Rhyne, Gunn tallied seven markers and a game-high
six assists before fouling out of the game with six minutes left.
Gunn is averaging 12.4 points per game, including 15 ppg in SAC contests. She is also second in the
league, averaging 6.1 assists per game and is shooting 84.6 percent from the
free throw line in her last five games (22-for-26).
The
South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is selected by a vote of the
league’s sports information directors.
