TUSCULUM RECEIVES VOTES IN USA TODAY/ESPN D-II WOMEN'S BASKETBALL POLL

 

                LILBURN, Ga. --- For a second straight week, the Tusculum College women’s basketball continues to receive votes in the USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll announced College officials Tuesday.

 

                The Pioneers’ 23 points, nine more than the 14 points they garnered a week ago, is the 30th most in the poll.

 

                Delta State holds the top spot in the poll with 649 total points, including 25 first place votes.  Seattle Pacific is second with 622 points, followed by North Dakota, South Dakota and Concordia-St. Paul.  Drury is sixth, followed by Holy Family, Alaska Anchorage, Fort Lewis, Indiana (Pa.) and West Georgia.  West Texas A&M is 12th, followed by Valdosta State, CSU-Chico, Arkansas Tech, Stonehill, Anderson (S.C.), Francis Marion, Washburn, Michigan Tech, Fairmont State, Emporia State, Franklin Pierce, Minnesota-Mankato and Augustana to round out the poll.

 

                Tusculum (18-3, 8-1 in South Atlantic Conference) is off to its best start through 21 games since the 1994-95 season.  The Pioneers are tied for first place in the conference with Wingate.  TC will be in action this Saturday at Catawba for a 2 p.m. SAC contest.
