TUSCULUM RELEASES ITS 2005 CROSS COUNTRY SCHEDULE

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- The 2005 Tusculum College cross country schedule has been released announced Pioneer head coach Phil Roberts.  The Pioneer men and women's cross country teams will compete in six regular season meets, culminating with the 2005 South Atlantic Conference Championship, hosted by Tusculum on Oct. 22 on the campus of the Greene Valley Developmental Center.                 Tusculum will open the season Sep. 3 when it competes at the Eye Opener Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C.  A week later, the Pioneers will host the Tusculum Invitational, which will serve as a preview of the SAC Meet to be held the following month.

 

                The Pioneers hit the road once again on Sep. 17 as they compete at the Wingate Invitational in Wingate, N.C.  That meet will be a preview of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional, slated for November.

 

                TC will next run at the Volunteer Invitational, hosted by the University of Tennessee in Knoxville on Oct. 1.  The Pioneers head for Greenville, S.C. to compete at the Furman Invitational Oct. 8.

 

                Tusculum returns home to compete at the SAC Championship, which will mark the fourth time that the Pioneers have hosted this event and first since 2002.

 

                The NCAA II Southeast Regional will be held Nov. 5 at Wingate with the NCAA National Championship slated for Nov. 19 in Pomona, Calif.

 

                Tusculum College is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which consists of eight colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
