TUSCULUM FINISHES THIRD AT BULLDOG INVITATIONAL IN CROSS COUNTRY SEASON OPENER

 

                BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. --- The Tusculum College cross country teams each finished third at the 2006 Bulldog Invitational, hosted by UNC Asheville.

 

                The Tusculum women recorded 69 points, led by newcomer Alex Frary who finished ninth individually with a time of 21:38.  Alicja Dembna recorded a 10th place showing with a mark of 21:53, while Sarah Alston placed 11th with 22:19.  Danielle Hutson (25:38), Marci Moore (26:04) and Emmy Johnson (26:32) finished 19th, 20th and 21st, respectively.

 

                In the men's race, Winston Curry posted a sixth place finish with his time of 17:32 as the Pioneers posted 82 points.  Stephen Jones recorded a time of 18:18 to finish 11th, while Scott Howard placed 20th with his time of 23:19.  Henri Lespinasse (23:21), Cody Wiggins (33:13) rounded out the scoring for the Pioneers.

 

                The Pioneers return to action next Saturday when it hosts the Tusculum Invitational at the Greene Valley Development Center.
