MORRISTOWN, Tenn. --- The Tusculum College women's cross country team fourth and the men's team was seventh at the 2004 South Atlantic Conference Championships Saturday morning at Panther Creek State Park in Morristown, Tenn.

Tusculum's Jamie Dyke (Newport, Tenn.) was named Freshman of the Year with her 11^th-place finish (21:03.91). Senior Amanda Musick (Lebanon, Tenn.) earned First Team All-Conference honors for the fourth time in her career, finishing sixth (20:21.34).

Mars Hill College swept top honors in both the men's and women's side. The win by the Mars Hill men's team was their seventh consecutive conference championship. The Lady Lions won the SAC title for the sixth time in seven seasons. Mars Hill's Craig Eckstein was named the men's Runner of the Year as he finished the 8K race in a time of 27:02.23. On the women's side, Sarah Utz of Wingate was the Runner of the Year as she had the best finish in a time of 19:21.25.

TC sophomore Sarah Alston (Morristown, Tenn.) was 24^th, crossing the finish line in 22:19.24. Sophomore Ashley King (Piney Flats, Tenn.) was 27^th (22:29.14) followed by freshmen Dannielle Hutson (Kingsport, Tenn.) in 36^th (23:16.73) and Rosie Perez (Lexington, Ky.) in 37^th (23:28.31).

For the Tusculum men, junior Ross Lewis (Morristown, Tenn.) was the top finisher with a 30^th-place showing (29:51.66). Sophomore Michael Connell (Greeneville, Tenn.) was 49^th (32:38.54), followed by senior Roger Jones (Greeneville, Tenn.) in 61^st (35:03.79), sophomore Scott Howard (Wakefield, Mass.) in 64^th (36:16.36), junior Jason Lowe (Midway, Tenn.) in 65^th (37:13.13) and freshman Thomas Whitley (Fayetteville, Ga.) was 66^th (37:13.79).
