HOLZAPFEL WINS AT MARYVILLE INVITATIONAL

 

                MARYVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College's Simon Holzapfel was the college division winner at the Maryville College Invitational on Saturday morning.  The Tusculum men and women's team each finished fifth in the team competition.

 

                Holzapfel wins his second meet of the season as he posted a time of 26:58.8 on the 8,000-meter course.  Donald White finished 14th with his time of 29:31.7, while Will Jusino recorded a 22nd place showing at 30:14.3.  Conner Graves (39:09) and Jason Seaton (40:16.6) rounding out the scoring for Tusculum.

 

                In the women's race, Alicja Dembna (25:23.1) and Brooke Underwood (25:29.6) finished fourth and fifth respectively.  Lacy Webb tallied a 31st place finish with a time of 31:13.9, while Anne Brady posted a time of 34:01.5 to finish 39th.   Alex Kimbrell placed 43rd for Tusculum with her time of 35:01.0 as the Pioneers finished with 113 total points.

 

                Spartanburg Methodist College swept the team titles in both races.
