TUSCULUM, NORTH ALABAMA FOOTBALL GAME TO BE AIRED ON CSTV

INDIANAPOLIS --- NCAA Division II and CSTV have announced 20 regular-season football games, including the Sep. 8-Tusculum/North Alabama game, to be shown via broadband on the Internet announced officials.  The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m. (EST) at Braley Municipal Stadium in Florence, Ala.

Sixteen more games are in the works for October, but not all of those agreements have been finalized. Among games scheduled are the Pittsburg State-Northwest Missouri State clash at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City (Oct. 6); the Western State-Adams State game at Pueblo’s Dutch Clark Stadium (Oct. 27); and the Valdosta State-North Alabama game at VSU’s Bazemore-Hyder Stadium (Oct. 27).

This is the second year in which Division II has partnered with CSTV to make available a number of football games over the Internet to a national audience.

“The broadcasts proved wildly popular last year and should be even more so this year,” said Division II Vice President Mike Racy. “We’ve been able to work out some of the technological first-year growing pains, and viewers should realize a higher-quality production of the games this year.”

Once the fall schedule is completed, a total of 44 games representing every Division II conference will be shown via broadband. That is in addition to the four games announced recently to be telecast live on CSTV (Texas A&M-Commerce at Pittsburg State, Aug. 25, Mars Hill at Catawba, Sep. 27, Chadron State at Nebraska-Kearney, Oct. 18 and South Dakota at Nebraska-Omaha, Nov. 1). Those games also can be viewed via broadband through the CSTV Web site at http://www.cstv.com/ncaa/divii/.

The broadband schedule is evenly distributed among Division II conferences, with each league being represented in at least three games.

Tusculum kicks off the 2007 season this Saturday when the Pioneers travel to West Virginia to face the University of Charleston.  The game is set to begin at 1 p.m.
