GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- It was a thrilling day for local youth football players Thursday afternoon when the Tusculum College football program teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club at their annual Football Skills Clinic at Pioneer Field.

The clinic was free for all Greeneville and Greene County youth a very enthusiastic group of kid turned out for the clinic, which was conducted by Tusculum head coach Frankie DeBusk and the Pioneer football team.

Coach DeBusk spoke to the participants about the importance education, sportsmanship and teamwork.

The Pioneer squad conducted a normal practice in which the youth participated in.  The kids performed the drills just the like the Pioneers do each day at practice in preparation for their opponents.

"Once again, this was a lot of fun," said DeBusk.  "The kids really enjoyed themselves at the clinic, as did our players.  This has always been an excellent opportunity for our players to be positive mentors for the young people of our community.  It is one of the valuable lessons we teach our student-athletes at Tusculum and hope the young people who attended the clinic will get something out of it."

Tusculum is idle this week following last Saturday's 69-0 win over Saint Paul's College.  The 69-point margin of victory was the largest in the modern era at Tusculum and third biggest in school history.  The Pioneers will host Wingate University next Saturday (Sep. 29) in the South Atlantic Conference opener for both teams.  Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m. at Pioneer Field.
