--- Tusculum
College's Jeremy Thompson and John Gregory

announced league officials Monday. Thompson
was named SAC Defensive Player of the Week, while Gregory garnered Special

Thompson, a 6-0, 200-pound
junior defensive back from Rome, Ga., recorded a team-high 11 tackles in Tusculum's 31-16
league win over Lenoir-Rhyne College. Thompson finished with six solo hits, including
a sack that caused a fumble. He also
broke up a pass and recorded a quarterback hurry.
Gregory, a 6-2, 210-pound
sophomore from Ooltewah, Tenn., earns SAC Player of the Week honors
for the fifth time in his young career.
Gregory averaged 48.2 yards on his five punts, including a career-best
76-yarder, the third longest punt in school history. The Preseason All-American is averaging 41
yards per punt this season, which is second in the conference.
Tusculum
(3-3, 2-0 SAC) steps out of conference play this week when the Pioneers travel
to Brevard College for a 7 p.m. contest.
The SAC Football Players of the
Week are selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
