TUSCULUM'S JOHN GREGORY NAMED SAC SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR A THIRD TIME

John Gregory ROCK HILL, S.C. --- For the third time this season, Tusculum punter John Gregory has been named the South Atlantic Conference Special Teams Football Player of the Week announced league officials Monday.

Gregory, a 6-2, 210-pound freshman from Ootlewah, Tenn., averaged 41.8 yards on his 10 punts in Tusculum's 24-17 road win at Mars Hill.  Gregory, who earns this honor for a third time this season, pinned Mars Hill inside the 20-yard line three times, including two punts of 50-plus yards with a long of 56.  Gregory's 418 punting yards are the second most in a game in school history.  He established the school record earlier this season with 424.

Tusculum (6-4, 3-3 SAC) closes out its season this Saturday when it hosts arch-rival Carson-Newman for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff at Pioneer Field.

The SAC Football Players of the Week are selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
