PIONEERS FINISH 14^TH AT RENDLEMAN INVITATIONAL

SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team posted a two-day total 617 and tied for 14^th place at the 2007 Richard Rendleman Invitational, held this week at the Country Club of Salisbury.

Three-time defending national champion USC Aiken won the team title by 23 shots by shooting 571, including a final round 280 (-4). UNC Pembroke and North Greenville tied for second with 594, while Presbyterian (596) and Newberry (597) rounded out the top five. Clayton State finished sixth with 598, followed by Barton (600), Grand Valley State (603), Wingate (603), Lenoir-Rhyne (604), Georgia Southwestern (609), Carson-Newman (611), Charleston (616), Tusculum (617), Pfeiffer, Belmont Abbey (621), host Catawba (622) and Mars Hill (645).

Chris Wynne was Tusculum's top finisher as he carded 74-75=149 to tie for 20^th place. Matt Brown tied for 33^rd with 80-72=152, while Chase Carroll shot 77-79=156 to tie for 56^th. Jacob Scheffers carded 76-89=165 to tie for 84^th, while Matt McIntyre tallied 82-84=166 (T86).

USC Aiken's Jeff Goff claimed individual medalist honors with his six-under par 136, including a sparking 66 (-5) in Tuesday's final round.

The Pioneers are back in action this weekend when they host the 14^th annual Tusculum Invitational at Link Hills Country Club. Tusculum is the defending champion of the event.
