TUSCULUM MEN SHOOT 593 TO FINISH THIRD AT RENDLEMAN

 

                SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College men’s golf team carded a two-day 593 to finish third at the 2006 Richard Rendleman Invitational at the par 71 Country Club of Salisbury.

 

                The Pioneers tied for the lowest round of the day with 294 and finish seven shots behind tournament winner Pfeiffer.

 

                Sasha Catron and Chase Carroll led the Tusculum surge tying for eighth place with 146.  Carroll fired an even par 71 on Tuesday, while Chris Wynne and Nick Kinzer each posted final round 74’s. Wynne posted a two-round 150 to tie for 19th, while Kinzer finished 25th at 151.  Luke Miller rounded out the scoring for Tusculum with 158.

 

                UNC Pembroke placed fourth, while Newberry and Presbyterian tied fir fifth with 602.  Grand Valley State shot 604 to finish eighth, followed by Queens (608), host Catawba (611), Clayton State (611), Charleston (613), Lenoir-Rhyne (616), Barton (622), Wingate (623), Laval (627), North Greenville (630) and Mars Hill (630).

 

                Tusculum returns to action Mar. 20-21 at the Lenoir-Rhyne Intercollegiate.
