TUSCULUM TIED FOR SIXTH AT ACCUSPORT INTERCOLLEGIATE

 

                CONOVER, N.C. --- The Tusculum College men’s golf team shot 330 and is tied for sixth place following the opening round of the 2007 Accusport Intercollegiate, held this week at the Rock Barn Golf Club.

 

                Lander University leads the 10 team field with its opening round 305.  Pfeiffer University is second with 312 followed by tournament host Lenoir-Rhyne College with 313.  Barton College is fourth with 321, followed by Limestone College (325), Tusculum (330), Wingate University (330), Catawba College (335), Lenoir-Rhyne B (339) and Mars Hill College (347).

 

                Tusculum’s Chase Carroll was the top Pioneer on the day as he posted 81 and is tied for 20th place.  Chris Wynne, Jake Scheffers and Matt McIntyre are tied for 28th with 83, while Darren Christie shot 91 and is tied for 46th.
