KINZER SHOOTS 73, LEADS AT ACCUSPORT INTERCOLLEGIATE

CONOVER, N.C. --- Tusculum senior Nick Kinzer fired a first-day 73 and leads after the opening round of the 2006 Accusport Intercollegiate, held at the Rock Barn Golf Club.  As a team, the Pioneers shot 327 and are in fifth place in the 16-team tournament field.

Kinzer, who captured medalist honors earlier this month at the Tusculum Invitational, continues his stellar play as he holds a two-shot lead over second place Paul Butler of Limestone College in cold, rainy conditions.

Tusculum’s Chase Carroll is tied for 21st with 82, while Sasha Catron carded an 83 and is tied for 24th place.  Dallas Bassen tallied an 89 (T58th) to round out the scoring for the Pioneers.
