TUSCULUM MEN'S GOLF RANKED FIFTH IN NCAA REGION POLL

 

                INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College men's golf team is listed fifth in the inaugural 2006 NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings announced officials Friday.  At the end of the regular season, the top eight teams will advance to the NCAA Southeast/Atlantic Super Regional, May 1-3 in Concord, N.C.

 

                Defending national champion USC Aiken is the top ranked team in the region, followed by Armstrong Atlantic State University, Columbus State University, USC Upstate and Tusculum to round out the top five.  Georgia College & State University is sixth, followed by Newberry College, UNC Pembroke, Presbyterian College and Catawba College.

 

                The Pioneers have finished in the top of five of five tournaments this season, including team championship honors at the Tusculum Invitational earlier this month.

 

                TC returns to action Apr. 1-2 when it competes at the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate in White Lake, N.C.
