TUSCULUM MEN'S GOLF FINISH EIGHTH AT CAROLINA SANDS INTERCOLLEGIATE

 

                WHITE LAKE, N.C. --- The Tusculum College men's golf team fired a two-day score of 613 to finish eighth at the Carolina Sands Intercollegiate, held this weekend at the par 72, 6,925-yard Carolina Sands Golf Club.

 

                Pfeiffer captured the team title with 588, five shots better than Lenoir-Rhyne (593).  USC Upstate finished third with 594, followed by Catawba (598), Mount Olive (603), host UNC Pembroke (607), Newberry (609), Tusculum, Johnson C. Smith (706) and Chowan (830).

 

                Tusculum's Chase Carroll posted 150 to finish in 17th place, while Dallas Bassen tallied 151 to tie for 18th.  Sasha Catron tied for 28th with 154, while Chris Wynne (T39 - 159) and Nick Kinzer (T42 - 160) round out the scoring for Tusculum.  A.J. Broderick tied for 20th with his two round 152, playing as an individual.

 

              The Pioneers return to action Apr. 10-11 as they compete at the 2006 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championship in Hickory, N.C.
