TC TIED FOR SECOND AFTER DAY ONE OF SAC TOURNAMENT

 

                HICKORY, N.C. – The Tusculum men’s golf team is tied for second after firing a 588 to open day one of the 2006 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men’s Golf Tournament, hosted at the Lake Hickory Country Club at Catawba Springs.

 

                Lenoir-Rhyne, which fired a 580, sits atop the leaderboard, eight strokes ahead of the Pioneers and Newberry, which also shot a 580.  Catawba (596) sits in fourth place, eight strokes behind Tusculum and Newberry.

 

                Chris Wynne was the Pioneers’ top golfer on day one, carding a 145 to tie for fourth.  Chase Carroll is sixth with a 146.  Nick Kinzer and Sasha Catron are currently tied for 12th, having shot 149.  Dallas Bassen’s 152 tied for 22nd.

 

                The final 18 holes of the SAC Tournament will be played on Tuesday.
