TUSCULUM'S CHASE CARROLL NAMED SAC MEN'S GOLF SCHOLAR ATHLETE
ROCK HILL, S.C.
--- Tusculum
College's Chase Carroll has been named the 2007 South Atlantic Conference Men's
Golf Scholar Athlete of the Year announced league officials Thursday.
Carroll,
a sophomore from Knoxville,
Tenn., becomes the second player
in the program's history to earn this prestigious award.
The Bearden High School
graduate won the Tusculum Fall Classic and tied for sixth at both the Anderson
Invitational and Carolina Sands Classic. His season average of 74.88 is on pace
to be the fifth lowest in school history. The 2007 All-SAC Second Team honoree has
posted five top 25 finishes, including three in the top 10.
Carroll
has a 3.95 cumulative grade point average as a Business Management major and has
been named to the Dean’s List, President’s List, Charles Oliver Gray Honors
List and SAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
In
the community, Carroll volunteers with assisting the homeless, the “Empty
Stocking Fund,” and tutoring and mentoring at a local elementary school.
Tusculum
College, located in Greeneville,
Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian
Church, USA and is a NCAA
Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of nine
colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South
Carolina.
