TUSCULUM'S WYNNE, CARROLL SHOW IMPROVEMENT AT NCAA MEN'S GOLF REGIONAL

POOLER, Ga. --- Tusculum College junior Chris Wynne moved up the leader board seven spots and is tied for 27th place after day two action of the 2007 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Southeast Regional.  Wynne (Johnson City, Tenn.) posted his second straight round of 82 as he has 162 through 36 holes on the par 72, 7066-yard Savannah Quarters Country Club layout.

Sophomore Chase Carroll (Knoxville, Tenn.) shaved five shots off his first round score with an 80 on Tuesday, giving him 165 and is tied for 37th.

Wynne experienced difficulty on his opening nine as he shot 45, including two triple bogeys.  He bounced back with consecutive birdies on his inward nine to shoot one-over par 37.

Carroll was the exact opposite in his second round as he came out blazing, birdying the opening hole.  After a bogey on his second hole of the day, he proceeded to record five straight pars, before scoring a birdie on his eighth hole.  But a quadruple bogey eight on his final hole on his first nine gave him a 39.  Carroll posted a 41 on the inward side, including five pars to finish with 80 on the day.

USC Upstate's Baxter Culler fired an even par 72 and is in the lead with 149, one shot ahead of Christian Ries of Columbus State.

The final round will be conducted on Wednesday at the Savannah Quarters Country Club.
