DARREN CHRISTIE TO PLAY GOLF AT TUSCULUM

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Darren Christie has indicated he will attend Tusculum College and play golf for the Pioneers announced TC head coach Bob Dibble.

 

                Christie, a native of Paisley, Scotland, comes to Tusculum after playing his rookie collegiate season at Brevard College.  In just one year, Christie earned All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Team, finishing fifth at last month's AAC Tournament.

 

                "Darren is a big, strong, young man and I'm very glad to have him join the Tusculum program," said Dibble.  "He should be an immediate impact player for the Pioneers."

 

                Christie posted a 76.29 scoring average in his six recorded events.  He posted a fourth place finish at the Montreat Invitational carding a 75-74=149. He also tied for ninth at last month's Brevard Invitational where he fired a three-round 84-70-72=226.  He has also competed in the Scottish Amateur Championship.

 

                Tusculum College, located in Greeneville, Tenn., is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA and is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which is comprised of eight colleges and universities in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina.
