PIONEERS IN SIXTH PLACE AT PATTON INTERCOLLEGIATE

 

                HICKORY, N.C. --- Nick Kinzer posted a first round 74 as the Tusculum College men's golf team logged an opening day 306 at the 2005 Billy Joe Patton Intercollegiate Monday.

 

                Chris Wynne carded a 75, while Jacob Scheffers posted a 78 for the Pioneers.  Sasha Catron fired a 79, while Andy Arp rounded out the team scoring with an 86.  Dallas Bassen, playing as an individual, shot 79 for the Pioneers.

 

                The University of South Carolina "B" squad leads the team competition with 296, led by David Kite, who fired a three-under par 69.  David Kite is the son of 1992 U.S. Open Champion Tom Kite.

 

                The final round will be played on Tuesday.
