TUSCULUM MEN LISTED 41ST IN GOLFSTAT RANKINGS

 

                BLOOMINGTON, Ill. --- The Tusculum College men’s golf team is listed 41st in this week’s Golfstat NCAA Division II head-to-head standings announced College officials Wednesday.

 

                The Pioneers are off to one of their best starts in school history.  Tusculum has won two of its first three tournaments so far this fall season.  TC opened the year by winning the Anderson Invitational, shooting 578 for the 36-hole tournament.  Junior Chris Wynne (Johnson City, Tenn.) captured medalist honors carding a school record 137.

 

                Tusculum followed that performance finishing eighth of 18 teams at the Johnny Palmer Invitational.  TC posted a 54-hole tally of 903, led once again by Wynne who tied for 21st place with 225.

 

                The Pioneers recorded one of the best performances in school history in its last tournament as they captured the championship at the inaugural Tusculum Fall Classic.  The Pioneers established school records shooting consecutive rounds of 283 to post 566.  Sophomore Chase Carroll (Knoxville, Tenn.) broke the school record Wynne established three weeks earlier by shooting 67-67=134.

 

                Tusculum will close out the fall slate later this month at the Lincoln Memorial Invitational in Tazewell, Tenn.
