TUSCULUM MEN'S GOLF INKS THREE
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Three
student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to attend Tusculum College and play golf for the Pioneers
announced TC men's coach Bob Dibble. Joining the Pioneers next year season are Justin Harvey, Matthew Poff and Brian Cox.
Harvey, a native of Kingsport, Tenn., comes
to Tusculum from Dobyns-Bennett High School. He qualified for the Tennessee-Vince Gill
State Tournament of Champions for seven straight years. He shot a 68 to qualify for the 2007
Tennessee Boys State Junior and fired another 68 in the prestigious McDonalds'
High School Championship in 2007.
"Justin is a grinder that
never gives up," said Dibble.
"He has the capability of shooting very well. He definitely will be an immediate impact
player on the team."
Poff
was a member of the two-time defending Virginia State High School Championship
team at Floyd County High School. The Copper Hill, Va. native earned All-Region
honors and won the Roanoke Valley Junior Summer Tour Championship.
"Matt has proven that he is
a winner," Dibble added. "I'm
confident he will bring that attitude and ability to this team."
Cox and Poff
were teammates on the State title team at Floyd County. Cox, a native of Radford, Va.,
was a two-time All-District First Team selection.
"Brian is another proven
winner," Dibble stated. I feel he
will step right in and make this team even better than it is now.
Tusculum captured team titles in two of the
four tournaments the Pioneers played in this summer.
