TUSCULUM WOMEN’S GOLF IN FOURTH AT LADY BULLDOG INVITATIONAL

 

                MONROE, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women’s golf team has three players in the top 10 as the Pioneers shot 332 and are in fourth place following the opening round of the Lady Bulldog Invitational.  The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being held at the par 72, 5,676-yard Stonebridge Golf Club.

                Tusculum’s Becca Friddle carded a first-day 81 and is tied for fifth place, eight shots behind first round leader Paige Haverty of Catawba College.  Shannon Palenkas and Amanda Bowen each shot 82 and are tied for seventh.  Mandy Hartsock is tied for 20th with 87, while Susanne Sisco posted 95 and is in 36th place.  Amber Ladner, playing as an individual, shot 99 and is tied for 40th.

                Pfeiffer University leads the team competition with 317, 12 shots ahead of host Wingate University, who posted 329.  Catawba is in third with 331, followed by Tusculum (332), Anderson University (352), Lenoir-Rhyne College (355), Queens University of Charlotte (368) and Mars Hill College (410).

                The second round will be held on Tuesday.
