BOWEN MATCHES CAREER BEST, TUSCULUM WOMEN’S GOLF FINISHES THIRD AT LADY BULLDOG INVITATIONAL

 

                MONROE, N.C. – Tusculum College’s Amanda Bowen fired a final round 77 to shoot 159 and finish fourth at the 2006 Lady Bulldog Invitational, held this week at the Stonebridge Golf Club.  The Pioneers finished with a two-day tally of 666, including Tuesday’s 334.

 

                Bowen’s round of 77 was the second lowest of the day, while matching a personal career best.  She also earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Shannon Palenkas finished with 165 to tie for sixth place, while Becca Friddle posted a two-day 168 to tie for 10th.  Mandy Hartsock tallied 174 to tie for 19th, while Susanne Sisco accounted for 189 (37th).  Amber Ladner finished 39th with 195, playing as an individual.

 

                Pfeiffer University claimed the team championship with 634, while Catawba College finished second with 662.  Tusculum placed third, followed by host Wingate University (671), Lenoir-Rhyne College (703), Anderson University (705), Queens University of Charlotte (727) and Mars Hill College (795).

 

                Tusculum returns home to host the ninth annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Tournament, Apr. 3-4 at Link Hills Country Club.
