TUSCULUM WOMEN'S GOLF MOVES TO NO. 23 IN GOLF WORLD/NGCA DIVISION II POLL

NEW YORK --- On the strength of a pair of top three finishes, the Tusculum College women's golf team has climbed two spots and is ranked No. 23 in this week's Golf World/NGCA Division II Coaches' Poll announced College officials Thursday.

The Pioneers garnered 24 points and is one of three South Atlantic Conference teams listed in this week's top 25.  Newberry College is ranked 14th, while Catawba College is listed No. 20.

Tusculum finished second at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate and followed that with a third place showing at this week's Agnes McAmis Memorial Invitational.  At the McAmis Memorial, Tusculum was led by senior Amanda Bowen who fired a school record 77-69=146 to establish a new school 36-hole record.  Bowen's final round 69 tied a school and SAC record.

Tusculum will be in action again at the South Atlantic Conference Championship in Hickory, N.C. on Apr. 16-17.  The Pioneers won the SAC Championship in 2000 and again in 2001.
