Tusculum Women's Golf to Host McAmis Memorial This Week

TUSCULUM WOMEN’S GOLF TO HOST McAMIS MEMORIAL THIS WEEK

 

                GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College will host the 11th annual Agnes McAmis Memorial Women's Golf Invitational, this Monday and Tuesday at Link Hills Country Club.

 

                This year’s tournament field consists of teams and players representing 15 institutions from six different states including Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.  Five of the seven schools that will be competing in the upcoming South Atlantic Conference Championship will be in Greeneville this week.  Joining Tusculum are fellow SAC members Catawba College, Lincoln Memorial University, Mars Hill College and Wingate University.

 

The field also includes NCAA Division II squads Anderson University, Belmont Abbey College, Limestone College, UNC Pembroke, Pfeiffer and Queens University of Charlotte.  King College, Shorter College, Southern Virginia University and Spartanburg Methodist College round out the tournament competitors.

 

                Tusculum College has won the McAmis Memorial three times with its last title coming in 2000.  Lincoln Memorial is the only other McAmis Champion competing this year, winning the title in 2001.

 

                Monday's opening round will begin at 9:30 a.m. on the 5,832 yard, Par 72 layout.  Tuesday's final round is slated to begin at 8 a.m.  Admission to the two-day, 36-hole event is free and open to the public.
