TUSCULUM WOMEN'S GOLF IN THIRD AFTER DAY ONE OF ANDERSON INVITATIONAL

 

                ANDERSON, S.C. --- Tusculum College freshman Mary Ann Vizcarrondo carded an opening round 81 in her collegiate debut and is tied for 11th after day one action of the 2006 Anderson University Invitational.

 

                The Pioneers shot 336 as a team and is in third place.  USC Upstate leads after its opening day 307 and holds a 15-shot advantage over tournament host Anderson (322).  Tusculum is third, followed by Wingate University (339), Mount Olive College (344), Queens University of Charlotte (348), Lincoln Memorial University (355), Limestone College (355) and Presbyterian College (409).

 

                Senior Shannon Palenkas is in 18th place following Monday's 83, while senior Amanda Bowen is 22nd at 85.  Mandy Hartsock is tied for 24th with her opening 87 and Susanne Sisco is tied for 34th with 92.  Liz Ennen posted a 99 playing as an individual and is 45th.

 

                The final round will be played on Tuesday on the par 72, 6,116-yard layout.
