TUSCULUM WOMEN CLAIM RUNNER-UP HONORS AT ANDERSON INVITATIONAL

ANDERSON, S.C. --- For a second straight year, the Tusculum College women's golf team has finished second at the Anderson University Invitational. The 36-hole, two-day event was held at the par 72, 6,116-yard Brookstone Meadows.

Tusculum shot 335-337=672 to finish second behind Pfeiffer University who tallied 324-330=654. Host Anderson finished third with 686, followed by Armstrong Atlantic State University (687), Spartanburg Methodist (689), Mount Olive College (702), Limestone College (711), Lincoln Memorial University (715) and UNC Pembroke (744).

Mary Ann Vizcarrondo was Tusculum's top finisher as she placed sixth with 84-78=162. Emily Palenkas finished with 12^th with 167, while Susanne Sisco took six shots off of Monday's round with 89-83=172 (T16th). Mandy Hartsock tied for 18^th with 86-87=173, while Adriana Vizcarrondo rounded out the scoring with 87-89=176.

Tusculum returns to action on Oct. 1-2 when they host the TC Fall Classic. The Pioneers are the defending champions of this event which will be held at Link Hills Country Club.
