BOWEN, TUSCULUM FOURTH AT ANDERSON INVITATIONAL

 

                ANDERSON, S.C. --- Tusculum College’s Amanda Bowen carded an opening round 78 and is in fourth place, following first round action of the 2005 Anderson College Invitational.  The Pioneers posted a 336 and is in fourth place in the team competition.

 

                Tusculum’s Becca Friddle is tied for 18th with an 84, while freshman Mary Beth McFarland shot 86 and is tied for 24th in her collegiate debut.  Shannon Palenkas is tied for 30th with 88, while Rachel Quinlan-Waters shot 95 and is tied for 45th.  Rookie Amber Ladner is also tied for 45th with 95 playing as an individual.

 

                Catawba College shot 326 as a team and holds a one shot lead over host Anderson.  Wingate University is third with 331, followed by Tusculum, Newberry College (339), Mount Olive College (346), USC Upstate (347), Belmont Abbey College (351), Lincoln Memorial University (370) and St. Andrews Presbyterian College (381).

 

                The final round will be played on Tuesday.
