PIONEERS LISTED NO. 27 IN WOMEN’S GOLFSTAT RANKINGS

 

                BLOOMINGTON, Ill. --- With a first place and runner-up showing to their credit, the Tusculum College women’s golf team is listed No. 27 in this week’s Golfstat NCAA Division II rankings announced College officials Wednesday.

 

                Tusculum is enjoying one of its best starts in school history.  The Pioneers posted a strong second place showing at the Anderson Invitational, shooting 336-316=652.

 

                TC answered by winning the inaugural Tusculum Fall Classic at Link Hills Country Club earlier this month.  The Pioneers established school records, carding 310-320=630.  Senior Shannon Palenkas captured medalist honors by shooting a school record 71-77=148.

 

                Earlier this week, Tusculum finished sixth at the Lenoir-Rhyne/Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate, held in Little River, S.C.  The Pioneers shot 325-315=630 against the 18-team field.

 

                The Pioneers are back in action next week as they compete at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational.
