TUSCULUM 8th MIDWAY THROUGH RENDLEMAN INVITE

 

SALISBURY, N.C. --- The Tusculum College women’s golf team turned in a first-round 345 to place eighth midway through competition at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational at the Country Club of Salisbury.  Central Arkansas shot a 314 to take the lead after one day of play.

 

Junior Shannon Palenkas (Maryville, Tenn.) carded a 77 to lead the Pioneer linksters, which tied her for fifth place.  Junior Amanda Bowen (Millington, Tenn.) is currently tied for 22nd after recording an 83.  Sophomore Mandy Hartsock (Kingsport, Tenn.) shot an 88 to tie for 38th, and freshman Mary Beth McFarland (Jonesborough, Tenn.) is 56th after turning in a 97.  Junior Becca Friddle (Honea Path, S.C.), who tallied a 101, is tied for 61st.

 

Tusculum will conclude play at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational on Tuesday.
