TUSCULUM, CARSON-NEWMAN BASKETBALL GAMES AVAILABLE
ON INTERNET STREAMING
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Saturday’s men’s
and women’s basketball doubleheader between Tusculum College and Carson-Newman
College will be available to watch via broadband Internet streaming. The game
can be accessed on the Tusculum athletic web site or at http://www.cstv.com/ncaa/divii/.
The
women’s game tips off at 6 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 8 p.m. from
Carson-Newman’s Holt Fieldhouse.
The
Tusculum women are off to a 20-3 record for its best start to a season in
school history. The Pioneers have won their last five games
and 17 of their last 18. TC sits atop
first place in the South Atlantic Conference (10-1 SAC record) thanks to Wednesday’s
night’s 92-79 win over Wingate University. Tusculum’s Stephany Neptune recorded 12 points and a school record 23 rebounds in the
win.
The
Carson-Newman Lady Eagles (12-10, 6-4 SAC) are in third place in the league. C-N has won four of its last six outings, including
Wednesday’s 72-67 road victory at Lenoir-Rhyne College.
In
last month’s meeting in Greeneville, the Pioneers posted a 79-74 win over
their in-state opponent. Tusculum jumped
out to a 17-point halftime lead, but had to hold off a furious C-N rally to
hold on for the victory.
In
the men’s game, it will be the 123rd recorded meeting between Tusculum
and Carson-Newman. The Eagles have
dominated the all-time series (85-37), but Tusculum has been victorious in
eight of the last 11 encounters, including the last five in Jefferson City.
Tusculum
(9-14, 3-8 SAC) has lost six of their last seven including Wednesday’s 64-53
home loss to Wingate. Carson-Newman
(16-5, 7-3 SAC) battled 20th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne down to the wire
on Wednesday, only to fall 97-93 to the SAC leading Bears.
