TUSCULUM MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS SALEM INTERNATIONAL 6-0

 

                SALEM, W.Va. --- Lucas Paulini scored a pair of goals as the Tusculum College men's soccer team blanked host Salem International 6-0 Saturday afternoon.  With the victory, the Pioneers improve to 2-3 on the season while posting its best offensive day of the year.

 

                Five different Pioneers found their way into the scoring column, while keepers Lance Moore and Ryan Clark blanked SIU.

 

                Tusculum got on the board first in the 17th minute when Paulini scored his first goal of the season on an assist by Rory McCook.  McCook assisted on TC's second goal of the afternoon when Tony Prisco knocked in his second scoring tally of 2007.  Bruno Conceicao scored his third goal of the year in the 37th minute, which was assisted by Telmo Dantes.  Tusculum added its final score before the intermission as Paulini found the back off the net for a second time, this one coming in the 43rd minute on an assist by Gareth Williams.

 

                Williams scored his first goal of the year in the 62nd minute, which was assisted by Prisco.  Williams added another assist on Dantes' goal one minute later.

 

                Tusculum opens South Atlantic Conference play this Wednesday when the Pioneers travel to Lincoln Memorial University for a 4 p.m. match in Harrogate, Tenn.
