GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Junior Gerald Watt (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) and senior Andre Nesfield (Arima, Trinidad) each scored two goals, with Watt's just 28 seconds apart, in No. 10 Tusculum College's 7-1 win over Montreat College Wednesday night in men's soccer action at Pioneer Field. (Box Score)
Watt scored the first two goals of the match, the first coming at the 19:06 mark, volleying a pass from senior Paul Hopkins (Portsmouth, England). His second was assisted by junior Jay Harris (London, England).
Nesfield made the score 3-0 in the 31st minute converting a nice one-two combination from Hopkins and sophomore Sean Collins (Melbourne, Fla.).
Montreat narrowed the margin to 3-1 with just over three minutes left in the first half, but any momentum was squashed in the first minute of the final period when junior Kohei Yamashita (Tokyo, Japan) tallied his fourth of the season. TC added two more less than a minute apart on goals by senior Jonathan Gordon (Glasgow, Scotland) and Nesfield. Hopkins completed the scoring with just under 28 minutes remaining in the match. In addition to his goal, Hopkins contributed three assists.
Sophomore J.P. Swaminathan (Brampton, Ontario, Canada) and senior Cameron Bailey (Winchester, Tenn.) combined for the win in goal for the Pioneers. The pair made six saves.
