TUSCULUM WOMEN'S SOCCER RANKED SEVENTH NATIONALLY, TOPS IN SOUTHEAST REGION

 

MISSION, Kan. --- The Tusculum College women's soccer team is listed seventh nationally in the NSCAA/adidas® Division II Women’s Soccer Rankings.  TC is also first in the Southeast Region.

                The Pioneers moved up seven spaces in the national poll and are the highest ranked team from the South Atlantic Conference.  Carson-Newman (5-1-0) fell from fourth place to 20th after a 3-1 loss to No. 16 Armstrong Atlantic Sep. 7.

 

Tusculum (5-2) went 2-0 last week as the Pioneers defeated Pfeiffer University, 2-0 and King College, 3-1 last week.  Junior Kelly Barron scored three goals over the week and was named the SAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week.

 

Tusculum will play at home Wednesday as they host SAC rival Mars Hill College at 7 p.m. in the league opener for both teams.
