TUSCULUM WOMEN'S SOCCER HOLDS TOP SPOT IN FIRST NCAA SOUTHEAST REGION POLL

 

                INDIANAPOLIS --- The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Southeast Region rankings have been released and Tusculum College is tied for the top spot in this year's inaugural poll.

 

                Tusculum (9-4) is tied with Armstrong Atlantic State University.  TC and AASU will square off on Monday afternoon at 4 p.m. in Savannah, Ga.

 

                Carson-Newman College is third, followed by Columbus State University, Clayton State University, Catawba College, Newberry College, Lander University, Lincoln Memorial University and UNC Pembroke.

 

                Tusculum returns to action this Saturday when they travel to Catawba (8-3-2) for an important SAC match.  The match in Salisbury, N.C. begins at 5 p.m.

 

                The NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship will provide for a 48-team, single-elimination tournament.  Six teams will be chosen from each of the eight regions established by the women's soccer committee.  The NCAA Tournament begins Nov. 9 at campus sites.
