TUSCULUM SWEEPS BOBCATS IN GILLUM COACHING DEBUT
GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Chrissy
Wilkison went 3-for-7, including a pair of home runs as Tusculum College
swept Lees-McRae College Saturday afternoon in college softball action at
Edmonds Field.
Tusculum erupted for three runs each in the
second and third innings in TC’s 6-2 win in the opener. In the second game, the Bobcats (1-5) plated
three runs in the top of the seventh, only to see Jenica Fernandez answer with a one-out single to drive in the
winning run in TC’s 7-6 victory
Wilkson connected on a solo
homer in each game, while Holli
Cadenhead went 4-for-7, including a pair triples in the Tusculum debut for new Pioneer head coach Fred Gillum.
Tusculum pitcher Megan DuBois went the distance in the first game as she allowed two
runs, six hits, a walk and seven strikeouts.
In the second game, Tusculum got two-hit
performances by Cadenhead, Wilkison and Fernandez as the Pioneers finished with
a dozen hits.
Tusculum
(2-0) returns to action on Friday when it travels to Brevard College
for a doubleheader.
