TUSCULUM'S CHRISSY WILKISON NAMED SAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
ROCK HILL, S.C.
--- Tusculum
College's Chrissy Wilkison has been named the South Atlantic
Conference Softball Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday.
Wilkison,
a junior first baseman from Lake Forest, Calif., batted .652 while leading the Pioneers to a 7-0
record last week, including five wins at the 2007 Snow Bird Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Wilkison went
15-for-23 at the plate with 17 runs batted in and scored 12 runs herself. She also added two doubles and a pair of home
runs.
In Tusculum's 21-3 rout
of Juniata College, Wilkison
established a new school single-game record with seven RBI. She went 3-for-4, scored four runs and
clubbed a home run.
Wilkison
leads the Pioneers (16-6) with her .449 batting average, as well as six
round-trippers and 32 RBI in just 22 games.
Last week, she didn't commit an error in 57 total chances.
Tusculum,
winners of eight of its last nine, returns home on Wednesday when TC hosts King College
for a 3 p.m. doubleheader at Red Edmonds Field.
The SAC Softball Player of the
Week is selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
