TUSCULUM SOFTBALL LISTED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS --- Tusculum College softball team is ninth in the nation in double plays turned according to this week's NCAA Division II statistics announced College officials Tuesday.

The Pioneers (28-23) have turned 24 double plays this season, which are a new school single-season record and are tied for the most in South Atlantic Conference history.

Tusculum is also 24^th in the country in doubles per game (1.78) and triples per game (0.35). Sophomore Holli Cadenhead (Van Vleck, Texas) is 26^th in the land averaging 0.11 triples per contest. Junior Anna Johnson (Jonesborough, Tenn.) is 30^th with her 0.10 average.

Tusculum will be the No. 8 seed in this week's Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament. The double-elimination tournament is being held at Presbyterian College Softball Complex in Clinton, S.C. The Pioneers will face No. 1 seed Lenoir-Rhyne College on Thursday at 4:15 p.m.
