BASILICATO NAMED TO ALL-SAC SOFTBALL TEAM

NEWBERRY, S.C. --- Tusculum College shortstop Ashley Basilicato has been named to the 2008 All-South Atlantic Conference Softball Team announced league officials Thursday.? The team was announced at the SAC Softball Awards Banquet on the campus of Newberry College, the host site of this year’s Food Lion SAC Tournament.

Basilicato, a junior from East Patchogue, N.Y., is batting .390 this season, accounting for 46 hits, 29 runs, 11 doubles, two triples, nine home runs and 29 RBI.? She is also posting a robust .748 slugging percentage, to go along with a .446 on-base percentage.
