TUSCULUM'S CHRISSY WILKISON NAMED TO ALL-SAC SOFTBALL TEAM

Chrissy Wilkison                ROCK HILL, S.C. --- Tusculum College first baseman Chrissy Wilkison has been named to the 2007 All-South Atlantic Conference Softball First Team announced league officials Wednesday.

Wilkison, a senior from Lake Forest, Calif., leads Pioneers with her .387 batting average, along with 16 doubles, nine home runs and 50 runs batted in.  Wilkison's home run total is the second most in school history and is two shy of matching the record held by former All-American Carla Loyd, who clubbed 11 round-trippers in 1991.

She also leads the team in slugging percentage (.673), walks (26), on-base percentage (.475) and putouts (331).  Her walk tally is tied for second in a season at Tusculum, while her putouts are third best.

Tusculum (28-23) will face No. 17 Lenoir-Rhyne College on Thursday in the opening round of the 2007 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament.  The game between the Pioneers and Bears will begin at 4:15 p.m. at the Presbyterian College Softball Complex in Clinton, S.C.
