TUSCULUM LISTED IN FINAL NCAA SOFTBALL STATISTICS

 

                INDIANAPOLIS --- The Tusculum College softball team finished 10th in the nation in double plays turned according to the final installment of the 2007 NCAA Division II statistics announced College officials Wednesday.

               

                The Pioneers turned a school and South Atlantic Conference single-season record 24 double plays this year, averaging 0.44 per contest.

 

                Tusculum also finished 14th in the country in doubles per game (1.81) and 30th in triples per outing (0.31).  TC recorded a new school and SAC season mark with 98 doubles in 2007.

 

                The Pioneers posted a 29-25 record, an 11-win improvement from the previous season.  TC's 29 wins also matched the most victories by a Pioneer squad since the school became a NCAA II member.
